August 26, 2005
Having obtained Nokia's mobile TV technology with the help of CMC, BenQ, Asus and Inventec Appliances are expected to roll out DVB-H mobile phones with TV functionality next year. It is anticipated that mobile TV trials will begin in late 2005, providing service for the Taipei area via Chunghua Telecom's network early next year. CMC will take charge of content provision, transmission mechanisms, and bills services. Other operators, including Taiwan Mobile, Far Eastone Telecommunications, Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless Communication, and Vibo Telecom, will estimate the feasibility of getting into mobile TV next year.
